Following his devastating title fight loss to UFC flyweight champ, Deiveson Figueiredo (20-1-1 MMA), in November, Alex Perez (24-6 MMA), joined MMA Junkie for his first interview since the loss.

During the interview, Perez gave his thought’s on his performance and how he’s handling the loss.

“I felt that for as long as the fight lasted, I didn’t really feel like I was in any crazy danger on the feet,” Perez said. “I always say, it’s whoever’s on that day. We both happened to be on, he just happened to be a little better. Slight guillotine and yeah, I mean I was more than ready, I knew that was coming, I felt like that was the only way he could actually beat me, you know. I feel like nine out of ten times I win that fight.”

“People are telling me, ‘oh you got caught,’ and there’s no such thing as getting caught man,” Perez said. “The guy threw it up, you know. He did his thing. It is what it is. Time to move on. All I can do is take it on the chin and get better.”
