Leon Edwards has a replacement opponent in Belal Muhammad for his main event bout on March 13.

Following his original opponent, Khamzat Chimaev, being forced out of the fight due to lingering effects of COVID-19, it appears Muhammad will now fill in for Chimaev against Edwards on March 13.

ESPN was first to report, after confirming with multiple sources, that both fighters have agreed to the bout.

Muhammad defeated Dhiego Lima this past weekend at UFC 258: Usman vs. Burns, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is currently on a four-fight win streak and has won eight of his last nine fights.

Edwards is currently on an eight-fight win streak and has won 10 of his last 11 fights. His last loss came to current UFC welterweight champ, Kamaru Usman. Edwards hasn’t fought since July of 2019. His last victory came against Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC on ESPN 4.
