Las Vegas — Last night, after defeating ‘Showtime’ Shawn Porter by TKO in the 10th round, Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford put another stake to his claim as the no. 1 welterweight in the world.
After Porter got dropped for the second time in the 10th round, his father and head trainer, Kenny Porter, called off the fight which immediately caused mass confusion throughout the arena and for Porter.
In the post-fight ring interview, Kenny said he stopped the fight because of Shawn’s “lack of preparation” leading up to the fight.
During the post-fight press conference, Porter announced his retirement from boxing. Stating that he doesn’t want to be a “gatekeeper.”
In the immediate aftermath, boxers and media members took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the fight and the controversial corner stoppage. Mostly calling out Porters father for the interference.
