Mayweather Promotions CEO, Leonard Ellerbe, did an interview with Fighthype.com earlier today regarding the potential match up between Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Ryan Garcia, stating that he believes, “it’s the biggest fight in boxing.”
“The best way to not get a fight done, is to talk about it,” Ellerbe said. “The difference between how we operate at Mayweather Promotions unlike a lot of other promotors, they talk about this stuff to the fans and to the media. We just do what we need to do, and make things happen. So when it’s the right time to announce Tank’s next fight, we’ll do that.”
“It’s an excellent fight, and actually in my opinion it’s the biggest fight in boxing,” Ellerbe said. “Period. It’s the biggest fight in boxing. I know a lot of people will disagree with me on that, but that’s my opinion,” adding, “Props to Ryan and his dad, and his team. They’ve done a tremendous job with thinking outside the box.”
Ellerbe did confirm one thing regarding Tank’s next fight, which is that it will be in front of a live audience.
“One thing we do know, Tank’s next fight will be in front of fans,” Ellerbe said. “He is a big time attraction, and that’s what his fans deserve.”
