A lot has been made of recent comments made by both Jon Jones and Mike Tyson regarding a fight against one another.

In a recent Instagram live interview that Tyson did with Charlie Mack, he stated that Jon Jones would have to fight him to get a big money fight.

“To make $100 million, Conor (McGregor) had to fight Floyd (Mayweather). Jon Jones gotta fight me to if he wants to make some super money,” Tyson said to Mack.

Jon Jones then replied to Tyson through an Instagram post of his own.

“I’ll box you in the ring if you promise to give me a real fight in the Octagon afterwards. And because I respect you so much, I promise I won’t break anything on you,” said Jones.

Earlier today on the DC & Helwani MMA Show, Ariel Helwani asked Daniel “DC” Cormier if he’s in or out on the Jones vs. Tyson fight.

“Hearing the whole reaction between the two is odd, so I’m just gonna ignore it. No sell,” said Cormier. “I’m no selling this thing right into the garbage can,” he added. “I think Mike was just talking. I think that when you’re in front of a camera like that, sometimes you just talk, and I just think that was one of the times that Mike was just talking. The reality is though, in order for Jones to make those types of dollars, he’s gonna have to go fight a guy like that in boxing, and get a boxing type of contract. So (Mike’s) not wrong. Still just not interested in it though.”

DC is scheduled to fight UFC heavyweight champ, Stipe Miocic, in a rubber match between the two fighters.

DC knocked out Miocic in the second round of their first fight, and Miocic avenged his loss a little over thirteen months later by defeating Cormier in the fourth round by TKO via body shots followed up by ground and pound.

These two heavyweight giants are set to face-off at UFC 252 for the heavyweight title on Aug. 15. The fight will take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, UFC president Dana White confirmed Saturday.
