BREAKING: Khamzat Chimaev Out of Leon Edwards Fight on March 13

The highly anticipated welterweight bout between Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev set for March 13 is off once again.

UFC president Dana White broke news to ESPN Thursday that Chimaev was forced to withdraw from the fight due to lingering physical effects from his battle with COVID-19 back in December.

Both fighters have already previously withdrawn from this bout due to COVID-19, making this the third time the fight has been cancelled due to COVID-19.

White told ESPN that the promotion is now planning to move on from the matchup. Edwards will now take on a different opponent at a potentially later date.
