Following back to back title fight losses, former featherweight champ, Max Holloway proved Saturday that he is on a different level than most in a masterclass performance against Calvin Kattar.

Immediately after the fights concluded, UFC president Dana White said that Holloway is “one of the all-time greats” following his record-breaking performance against Calvin Kattar.

“He’s one of the all-time greats period,” White said. “One of the all-time greats,” adding, “I think what we do now is we let Holloway have some time off until he can possibly fight for the title again. I don’t know if that will be too long – or whatever but we’ll figure it out.”

After suffering two devastating split decision losses to featherweight champ Alex Volkanovski, Holloway left no doubt in the judges eyes tonight in what really was a beautiful display of striking technique, and overall MMA skills that proved to be levels above his opponents.

With the judges scoring the fight 50-43, 50-43, 50-42, giving Holloway the unanimous decision victory, he is just the second person in UFC history to receive a 50-42 score on a judges score card.

Holloway got on the mic after the scorecards were announced to let White and the UFC know that he’s even willing to fill in for UFC 257’s main event next weekend, if Conor McGregor or Dustin Poirier fall out.

“All I’ve got to say is there’s a big, big fight next week – Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor,” Holloway said.

“And guess what? Your boy is staying all into the week. If anything happens – somebody drops out, Dana knows my number he can hit me up.”
