UFC President Dana White seems to only be interested in making real fights for now.
During the post-fight press conference for UFC Vegas 42, White, discussed what could potentially be next for Max Holloway, who hinted at having tons of options all throughout fight week, if he could secure the win over Yair Rodriguez.
According to the UFC president, a trilogy against featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski, is likely next.
“Yeah, I mean it’s one of those things, the (first two fights) were razor thin,” White said. “He just comes in and puts on a performance like this, you know. This is a guy that Volkanovski’s gonna have to just get him out of the way and do it again. You know what I mean?”
White quickly shut down questions regarding the potential for McGregor vs. Holloway 2, or a boxing match for Holloway.
“No boxing. Guys, one more guy asks me a boxing question, I’m gonna throw my fu*king phone at them alright? No boxing. No boxing.”
“Yeah, I don’t know,” White said referring to a possible rematch between Holloway and McGregor. “Listen, like I said, I don’t know what’s next for Max but it does make sense to see him and Volkanovski again. But we’ll get that figured out. Conor’s not even – Conor’s still hurt. I mean to even talk about Conor is silly.”
