One month after the announcement of his retirement, Henry Cejudo, also known as, Triple C, says there are two fights that he would come back for.
Cejudo retired in the octagon last month at UFC 249, after defeating Dominick Cruz in dominant fashion in just two rounds.
After successfully defending both his flyweight and bantamweight titles, and having already entered the sport as the youngest olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling history, Cejudo didn’t feel there was much more to accomplish in the sport.
That is unless he is granted the opportunity to move up in weight one more time and challenge for the UFC’s 145-pound featherweight title, or the opportunity to do a one-off boxing match with rising boxing superstar, Ryan Garcia.
“There’s a fight that I would really like in the UFC, and that would be against Alexander Volkanovski,” said Cejudo. “If the (UFC) were to let me go up (to 145 pounds), and obviously be compensated, then that would be a fight that would really wake me up in the morning,” he added. “A chance to be a three division world champion.”
“Ali (Cejudo’s manager) is gonna talk with Ryan Garcia’s manager about possibly making a fight with Ryan Garcia in boxing,” said Cejudo. “If things (line up financially), and (if) the cards are played right, then yeah, why not.”
