It didn’t take long for rising women’s strawweight prospect, Jasmine Jasudavicius, to get her first title shot.
After going 4-0 in her professional career thus far, and coming off an impressive first round TKO in her Cage Fury Fighting Championship (CFFC) debut, Jasudavicius is now set to fight Elise Reed (1-0 MMA) for the vacant CFFC women’s strawweight title, Thurs., Aug. 13, on UFC Fightpass.
Once the fight was announced, we reached out to Jasmine through Instagram direct messenger to see how she will be handling her training camp during these difficult times due to COVID-19.
“I am fortunate enough to still be able to train at my gym with a very small group,” Jasudavicius told Jacob Castro with ParryPunch MMA. “The gym is not open, but I have my coaches and a couple training partners that I’ve been able to continue working with throughout this entire pandemic.”
“Once I found out I had a fight confirmed, I continued to work with the same training partners that I had been working with this entire time. They are very skilled and push me everyday. I wouldn’t change them even if I had the option to.”
“My manager and I were in talks about a couple options for a week or so leading up (to the announcement), but I was very excited when this one got confirmed.”
During the quarantine, Jasudavicius has been able to stay fit by doing swim workouts, and by having a dedicated group of training partners that she can rely on everyday.
“I have been staying fit during quarantine by doing more swim workouts. I’m fortunate enough to have committed training partners so we have been able to train one to two times a day through this,” she told ParryPunch.
Despite only having four professional MMA fights, the MMA community is very high on Jasudavicius’ potential to become a household name in the sport.
Having finishes via rear-naked choke, body shots, and knees, Jasudavicius possesses a very exciting style of fighting, and she is must watch TV.
Tune in to see Jasmine Jasudavicius take on Elise Reed for the vacant woman’s strawweight title, Thurs., Aug. 13, only on UFC Fightpass.
