UFC President Dana White confirmed late Thursday with ESPN that Khamzat Chimaev is out of his welterweight bout against Leon Edwards on March 13 due to lingering issues from his battle with COVID-19 back in December.

Following Chimaev being ruled out of the fight, Edwards is eyeing three opponents as a replacement for March 13.

After speaking with Edwards manager Tim Simpson, Ariel Helwani of ESPN reported early Friday that Edwards is open to a fight against Jorge Masvidal, Colby Covington, or Nathan Diaz on March 13.

“Per Simpson, Edwards wants Jorge Masvidal, Colby Covington … or Nathan Diaz on March 13,” Helwani said in a Tweet.

Edwards responded to Helwani with a Tweet of his own, to specify who he would really like to fight of the three fighters listed.

“Nate just dribbled for an hour about wanting to fight at 170 against winners… let’s see it then Nate. 8-fight win streak and no. 3 in the world,” Edwards said in a Tweet. “Let’s go if you still think you’re a real one.”
