Following her bantamweight main event loss to Ketlen Vieira at UFC Vegas 43, Miesha Tate has issued a statement, expressing that she is still in good spirits despite the outcome.

Tate, 35, lost by unanimous decision to Brazil’s, Vieira, in what was a very competitive fight despite what the judges scorecards had to say. It was just her second fight back in the UFC Octagon since retiring in 2016 following a unanimous decision loss to Raquel Pennington.

Despite not being present at the post-fight press conference, Tate took to her social media to update supporters and media members on how she’s taking the loss.

Tate’s IG story post:

“Hey we had fun tonight!! I still feel like I evolved and in truth I was never tied to an outcome. Just happy to enjoy these moments, thank you as always for the support and congratulations, Ketlen Vieira.”

It’s nice to see that Tate seems to be truly enjoying being back and competing, doing what she loves. Rather than giving off the impression of fighting for money, she seems to be fighting because she actually missed it and felt like she had more to give to the sport.

Congratulations to Ketlen Vieira on an outstanding performance against a woman she likely idolized on her way up to the UFC.
