Following his big win over rising prospect, Augusto Sakai, this past weekend, Alistair Overeem (47-18 MMA, 12-7 UFC), believes there is still a score to settle between himself and Jairinho Rozenstruik, who he dominated for five rounds last December, until Rozenstruik caught him with a hard punch that split his lip wide open in the last ten seconds of the fight. Causing referee, Dan Miragliotta, to immediately stop the contest.

On Weds., Sept. 9, Overeem spoke with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani to talk his fighting future, his last performance, and how much time he has left in the sport.

When Overeem was asked whether or not he’s interested in running it back with Rozenstruik, here’s what he had to say.

“I still have a score to settle, right? He stole something from me,” Overeem told ESPN. He snuck away with the victory. I mean I schooled the man, he knows it. Everyone knows it. The whole world knows it, but somehow he still has that win. So we definitely have some score to settle.”

Helwani followed that up by asking if he had his choice at who he fights next, if he would choose Rozenstruik.

“Yes, definitely,” Overeem responded.

Overeem, 40, has won four of his last five fights by TKO. With his four wins all coming by way of TKO, Overeem is still in title contention despite his age.

Rozenstruik (11-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC), has had all of his UFC wins come by way of KO/TKO.

With both men currently being on a tear in the heavyweight division, let’s see if the UFC decides to rematch these two knockout artists for a title contention bout, and to settle their score once and for all.
