A fight in the light heavyweight division has been added to UFC’s Fight Night Event on March 20.
Paul Craig is set to meet Dana White Contender Series standout, Jamahal Hill, who has put together an impressive resume in his short time of being with the UFC. The location and venue for the card is still TBA.
First reported by MMA Junkie who confirmed the news with two people close to the situation, who asked to remain anonymous because the UFC has not yet made an official announcement.
Craig (14-4 MMA, 6-4-1 UFC), 33, is currently riding a three fight winning streak. Winning all three fight by way of submission, he has proven to be a force to be reckoned with if the fight goes to the ground. In his most recent fight, a rematch against former UFC light heavyweight champ, Shogun Rua, Craig made his opponent tap out from ground and pound strikes. While Craig may be the underdog going into this match up, he’s made a career in the UFC of coming out on top in the fights that he’s expected to lose.
Hill, 29, made a name for himself in 2020. After making his UFC debut in January, he went on to fight two more times where he finished both fights by knockout. However, one of his knockouts was turned into a no contest when he tested above the allowed limit for marijuana granted by the United States Anti Doping Agency (USADA). Hill went undefeated in 2020, going 3-0 with two knockouts. He will be looking to keep the ball rolling in 2021 by defeating Craig, and improving his undefeated Mixed Martial Arts record to 9-0.
