A bit of chaos ensued this morning, as UFC fighters hit the scales for UFC 257: Poirier vs. McGregor II weigh-ins.

Luckily, it was just the right amount of chaos to the point where it was still somewhat mendable.

It started when Nasrat Haqparast was pulled from his lightweight bout against Arman Tsarukyan, due to illness.

However, luckily for Tsarukyan, there was a lightweight fighter on stand by in Matt Frevola, who’s opponent also fell out earlier that day.

Following the removal of Ottman Azaitar in his bout against Frevola, which was due to a health and safety violation, Frevola made the choice to still weigh-in in the case that another fight fell out, he would then be there to fill in.

With Frevola on stand-by, Tsarukyan also made the decision to make weight and fight a new opponent on a days notice.

Unfortunately, Tsarukyan, weighed in one pound above the allowed limit at 157 pounds. Due to missing weight, he will now be forfeiting 20% of his purse to his opponent.

The newly formed lightweight bout between Tsarukyan (15-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) and Frevola (8-1-1 MMA, 2-1-1 UFC) will also be the new main event of the ESPN prelims.
