It appears a fight between Paddy Pimblett and Donald Cerrone won’t be happening after all.

In a recent appearance on the Believe You Me podcast hosted by former UFC middleweight champion, Michael Bisping, Pimblett put the rumored fight between him and Cerrone to rest.

“It’s going around everywhere but there’s no truth to it,” Pimblett said in regards to multiple media outlets reporting a potential fight between him and Cerrone on March 5. “Do you really think that the UFC is gonna put me on a card on the fifth of March in (Las) Vegas when they’re doing London on the 19th? It doesn’t make sense.”

Paddy went on to say that he wants a spot on the UFC London card in March and is disinterested in fighting on the rumored date of March 5, which would be for UFC 272.

“I still would like to fight in London in front of me home crowd, you know what I mean, (would) be sick. Be nice to walk out and show everyone what they’ve been missing. With crowds and entrances, lad, that would be walkout of the year confirmed straight away.”

As for a potential opponent for Pimblett, he says he hasn’t received any offers from the UFC at this time.

“The UFC hasn’t come at me with any opponents, you know what I mean. After he mentioned me, I thought me and Jared Gordon might get matched together… but as I say, I’ve got no idea.”

“I think that was just Chael (Sonnen) having a little go for some clickbait or something,” he added.

Pimblett says he’s been told he will be competing on the UFC London card on March 19.

“That’s what I’m guessing and that’s what I’ve been told, that me and Molly (McCann) will be fighting on the same card.”

“Like Molly’s got an opponent. A few other people have got opponents, like Jack Shore’s got an opponent.”

While Paddy is still waiting for the UFC to find him an opponent, he says he has one in mind.

“As I say, I really don’t care, lad,” Pimblett said. “Because he mentioned me in his post-fight interview and he beat my former teammate, lad, I would like to fight Jared Gordon.

“Obviously I would like to beat him, you know what I mean. And he’s on a three fight win streak. His last loss was to (Charles) Oliveira I think.”
