Rory MacDonald may be out of fighting, but he’s not out of the spotlight.
According to an official statement made by the PFL earlier today, MacDonald will be staring in a six-part docs-series titled, Red King Rundown, produced by PFL Studios.
The series is set to premiere Tuesday, June 30 at 10:00am ET across all PFL digital channels, and will continue weekly through Tuesday, August 4.
Earlier today, MacDonald spoke with ESPN’s Brett Okomoto about the upcoming series in which he explained what fans can expect when it airs on June 30th.
“Basically, it’s going to be a handful of episodes, and it’s just going to be everything about me. From the beginning of my career until basically now. All of the major people in my life from the beginning till now. It’s just gonna be kind of like almost a docuseries on me, my career, my family, my life. Everything about me really, and what goes into my career. So it should be pretty cool,” MacDonald said to ESPN’s Okomoto.
According to MacDonald, he was approached by the PFL (Professional Fighting League) about the idea of filming the series and he was up for it. Stating that he saw it as an opportunity to show another side of himself.
“PFL thought of the idea, but obviously I was up for it. I think it’s a great idea. Especially at a time like this where there’s not much going on because of the virus, I think it’s a great time to show another side of a fighter. A day in the life, not just the combat part of it. So i guess people – fans and stuff will get to know me a little bit on a deeper level,” he told Okomoto.
The series is set to premiere Tuesday, June 30 at 10:00am ET across all PFL digital channels, and will continue weekly through Tuesday, August 4.
