UFC featherweight Ricky Simon has been pulled from this weekends UFC Vegas 9 card due to one of his cornerman testing positive for Covid-19.
On Fri, Aug. 28, Simon took to Twitter to announce the unfortunate news.
“I just got the call that they are pulling me from the card due to one of my cornermen testing positive for Covid,” Simon wrote. “I put in so much work for this fight and I was really looking forward to putting on a show for you guys. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement.”
Despite the unfortunate news, his opponent, Brian Kelleher (21-11 MMA, 5-4 UFC), has gotten a replacement fight for the UFC Vegas 9 card against UFC newcomer Kevin Natividad (9-1 MMA).
