WBO, IBF, and WBA lightweight champ, Teofimo Lopez, did an interview with iFL TV earlier today where he gave fans something to look forward to as he revealed who he personally would like to fight next, and when his fans can expect to see him back in the ring.
During the interview, iFL asked Lopez if he had the option to fight Ryan Garcia, Gervonta Davis, or Devin Haney next, who would he pick.
“Gervonta Davis,” said Lopez. “The reason being, I like the fact that this guy thinks that he’s got it like that, so I think all of them are like that, but I think it would be a very interesting fight for everyone.”
As for when he plans on getting back in the ring, Lopez says it will be some time between April and May.
“End of April, beginning of May,” Lopez said. “It’s already confirmed, now we’re just getting into the details. So everyone will see me back in the ring, end of April, beginning of May. Whether it’s Cinco De Mayo weekend, that would be awesome, depending what Canelo does on his end, and I look forward to who we get next. Whether it’s (Yuriorkis) Gamboa, (Devin) Haney, (Ryan) Garcia, or Tank Davis.”
Lopez, currently ranked #10 in boxings pound for pound rankings, is looking to make his first defense of his newly earned WBO and WBA world titles since taking them from the man who many believed to be the pound for pound best fighter in the world for years to come, Vasyl Lomachenko, last October.
