Gilbert Burns has released footage of his last training session with former teammate and now future opponent, UFC welterweight champ, Kamaru Usman.
Both Burns and Usman trained under the head coach Henry Hooft in South Florida for the majority of their fighting careers. However, once there was no one left to fight but each other, Usman moved his training camp to Colorado to train under Trevor Whitman, who’s the head coach of UFC champions such as Rose Namajunas, Justin Gaethje, and more. Burns remains training under Hooft in Florida.
Ahead of their welterweight title fight this weekend at UFC 258, Burns posted a video on his Youtube channel titled, ‘FOOTAGE: The last time I trained with Kamaru Usman.’
During the video, Welterweight champ, Usman, is seen leading a practice that Burns is in attendance for. As the training session goes on, Usman is seen showing Burns some technique, and the two even work on some wrestling drills together.
UFC 258 takes place this Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+.
