For fight fans who follow ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley closely, you may have noticed that he is in a pretty serious relationship with his girlfriend, who has become an essential member of his team during fight week as his personal hairstylist.

At the end of an interview with Brendan Schaub on his show, Food Truck Diaries, O’Malley mentioned that he was looking to “hangout with some chicks,” later that night. Schaub then pointed out the obvious by stating that O’Malley’s girlfriend was most likely going to watch the interview.

Here’s how O’Malley responded:

“We’ve been together for a long time and it was before I was “Suga.” It had nothing to do with, ‘well I’m famous I should be able to (get with other women).’ It had nothing to do with that. It was like, ‘do you love me? Do you want me to enjoy my life?’ And she can – you know, it’s super mutual. It’s like, if we’re the boy’s hanging out in Santa Monica and if I had a good time and I come home tomorrow and I’m like, ‘oh yeah, I had a great time, this bitch sucked – whatever, she should be like, ‘oh damn cool.’ Like happy for me.”

Schaub then asked O’Malley how he would handle it if the roles were reversed and his girlfriend had been with another man the night before.

“What am I gonna say? ‘Oh you can’t do that – you can’t.’ If she wanted to, and that’s her enjoying her life, what am I (supposed to say)? It’s not like I’m gonna deal with it easy, I’m probably going to have to deal with some feelings that arise and some insecurities that will pop up from my childhood, from high school, from whatever. And I navigate through that, and I love her, I love her so much that I’m like, if that was something you felt you needed to do, that’s okay. We’ll see when I deal with it but so far, the stuff that we have dealt with, we always come out on the end of it,” O’Malley said to Schaub.

“So hopefully tonight we can go out, and go hangout with some chicks. But if not – I mean last night we didn’t score. We tried, we didn’t score. It’s a fun game,” O’Malley concluded.
