Stephen Thompson vs. Belal Muhammed booked to fight on Dec. 18 in year-end event

Las Vegas — A welterweight bout between Stephen Thompson and Belal Muhammed has been added to the UFC’s final event of the year, taking place on December 18 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

MMA Junkie first reported the news after confirming with multiple sources.

Thompson, 38, is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Gilbert Burns that took place at UFC 264 in July of this year. Heading into that fight, Thompson was eyeing a potential title shot if he could get an impressive victory over Burns.

Muhammad, 32, is coming off a unanimous decision victory against Demian Maia at UFC 263 in June of this year. He is currently on a five-fight winning streak.
